Health and Wellbeing (HWB) is not merely a matter of preventing disease. Health and Wellbeing increasingly needs to be approached in a holistic way that fosters mental and physical fitness and balance. Having healthy and caring relationships, as well as good daily habits and behavioural patterns, are just two of the many principles in this holistic approach.
In order to cope with these challenges of demographic - e.g. aging population - and societal - e.g. consumer empowerment - changes, the HWB system needs to migrate to a user-centric system with more self-management including both regular service providers as well as (innovative) third party service providers who will support people to live an uncompromised, active, healthy, pleasant & affordable life and at the same time avoid social exclusion.
