Innovation Radar

The aim of the Innovation Radar is to establish a common outlook on the future of ICT to create cohesion and a strong community across nodes and partner organisations. It will help develope tools and capabilities to turn ideas into ICT-based products and services that reach the market faster and generate larger impact than today. The two main elements of this catalyst are the establishment of a cross-node expert community for collaborative trend identification and the identification and creation of images of the future of ICT.

The Innovation Radar identifies and tracks trends in areas thematically relevant to EIT ICT Labs to achieve a qualified future outlook on ICT in Europe. This catalyst generates insights into future technology fields and important considerations to support our partners and the European Community for effective decision making.

The business catalyst Innovation Radar will:
- Identify developments and trends in ICT, focusing on our thematic action lines
- Provide images of the future of ICT
- Identify innovation opportunities and potential for commercialisation
- Facilitate follow-ups on identified developments and trends
- Create cohesion within ICT Labs on the ICT developments and trends

ICT Labs partners within all five nodes contribute to the development of the expert community. The collaboration is supported by the development of an IT platform - a form of professional social community - for posting, searching and finding innovation opportunities. This platform will be used to share trends and innovation opportunities, and to present completed studies.
