The European Center for Information and Communication Technologies (EICT) is a public-private partnership of scientific institutions, institutes of applied research and leading industrial companies in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The strategic innovation partnership pools and specifically links research and development activities in industry and science to ICT.
Since its foundation in 2006, EICT supports as a service and coordination platform the research activities of its partners Daimler AG, Deutsche Telekom AG, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V., Opera Software ASA and Technische Universität Berlin. EICT operates the German contribution to the EIT ICT Labs of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
