Luleå University of Technology (LTU) conducts research, education and innovation in several disciplines within Information and Communication Technologies. The university’s technical profile is enforced by a close collaboration with industry regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as an extensive involvement in the European framework programs.
The research at LTU is carried out in close cooperation with companies such as Ericsson, TeliaSonera, Tieto, Shell, Scania, LKAB, Airbus, Volvo Aero, IBM and SME companies and with the University’s international partners such as Monash Univ. and Standford Univ.
LTU’s main strength is the ability to work cross-disciplinary, where academic staff from various research subjects collaborate in applied projects together with industry and public organizations.
LTU is an affiliated partner to the EIT ICT Labs Stockholm node and conducts cross-disciplinary research in applied projects together with industry and public organizations at an international level. Our strengths are good industrial and business networks, cross-disciplinary applied approach, leading competence in open user driven innovation (LivingLabs), close relation to Aurorum Science Park, a good track record of creating start-ups and an important regional actor for regional development.
