The University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is a prestigious training and research institution offering a broad range of high-quality teaching programs and a privileged study environment has drawn an ever-growing number of scholars from around the world to the French Riviera. The two main labs of the university, I3S and LEAT, located in the campus STIC in Sophia Antipolis, participate in the ICT Labs.
The research teams at the I3S laboratory cover, almost continuously, all the spectrum of computer science, from the most theoretical to rather applied aspects, together with electrical engineering, including signal and image processing, automatic control and robotics.
At the LEAT laboratory four principal research areas are covered, with a strong emphasis on applicability: modeling, system design of communicating objects; active and integrated antennas, electromagnetic modeling, optimization and inverse problems, microwave detection and imaging systems.
The research that is carried out at UNS are mainly focused within the following EIT ICT thematic action lines: Smart Energy Systems, Health and wellbeing, Future Media and Content Delivery and Digital Cities.
