The EIT ICT Labs activities at the Technische Universität München and its associated institutes integrate research, innovation, and education activities in cyber-physical systems (CPS) for accelerated innovation and sustainable impact. The activities at the the EIT ICT Labs regional innovation center in Munich are coordinated through fortiss.

These activities build on existing strong research on cyber-physical systems such as the national innovation alliance on Software Platforms for Embedded Systems (spes2020.informatik.tu-muenchen.de) and educational programs at TUM. They are complemented with carefully selected , EIT-funded activities for enabling and continuously improving the EIT ICT Labs innovation process for cyber-physical systems.

In 2011/2012 the EIT ICT Labs activities at the TUM and its associate institutes concentrate on the EIT ICT Labs action lines on smart energy systems and smart spaces.
