KTH is the largest technical university in Sweden. Education and research cover a broad spectrum within natural sciences and engineering, as well as architecture, industrial engineering and management, urban planning, work science and environmental engineering.
KTH ICT in Kista conducts research and education in the Information Technology, Electronics, and Physics. KTH ICT has an internationally competitive profile in research in nano-electronics, photonics, electronic and computer systems, software and communication technology. KTH ICT also coordinates the strategic ICT research programme.
KTH currently runs research within several branches of information and communication technology as well as computer science at highest international level. This has contributed to the fact that Sweden holds a prominent position within this field.
At several of KTH’s schools, researchers compete with the world’s elite in e-science concerning large-scale scientific calculations using high performance computers in fields such as physics, chemistry, mechanics, materials science and bioinformatics.
